PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Aaron B. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Aaron, born and raised just outside of Madison, Wisconsin, is recent graduate from Northwestern University who majored in journalism with a certificate in design innovation. In 2020, Aaron graduated from Middleton High School, where he was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the school's award-winning newspaper, an avid jazz trumpeter, the founder of a teen-oriented section in the local city newspaper, and a rec basketball player. Also, in high school, he earned a perfect score on the English section of the ACT and took various A.P. classes, from Language & Composition to Comparative Government & Politics. At Northwestern, Aaron seized opportunities at the dynamic intersection of storytelling, business, and technology — a culmination of his academic and professional interests. He was the co-editor-in-chief for the Northwestern Business Review, one of the only student-led business journalism publications in the U.S., and a student organizer for the Global Engagement Summit, a student-run innovation conference that gathers young social entrepreneurs from around the world to advance their projects. He also won his journalism school's essay contest. Now, Aaron works for Adobe as a Voice of the Customer Data Analyst. Outside of work, Aaron can be found competing in sports (basketball, football, soccer, and ultimate frisbee), writing, reading, enjoying time outdoors, trying new foods, and spending time with his family and friends.
