PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Abby is currently a Junior pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Product Design and a Master's in Computer Science through Stanford’s Co-Terminal Program. In 2020, she graduated from Bravo Medical Magnet High School, where she participated in Science Olympiad and Science Bowl, conducted medical research at USC Keck Medical School, and danced on the school’s Bollywood Dance Team. After taking a few Mechanical Engineering classes, Abby realized she loved product realization. This prompted her to major in Product Design within the Mechanical Engineering Department. Through taking Product Design classes, Abby became intrigued with Human Computer Interactions and decided to take some Computer Science classes, causing her to work for her Master’s. Outside of class, Abby has had jobs as a User Experience Designer, a Product Strategist, and a Neuroscience Researcher. Abby is a creative. She has been involved in arts since her youth: she plays piano and guitar, draws and paints, and dances. Abby actively participates in Stanford Women in Design and Latinos Unidos. Whether you want to learn more about design, computer science, Spanish, or talk about a random idea you have in mind, Abby is eager to help. Abby prioritizes learning in a way that explores your curiosity and creativity.
