PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Aman F. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Aman is a junior at Yale University double majoring in Global Affairs and Economics. He was born and raised in San Diego, California. He’s passionate about social justice issues and civic engagement, and interned for his local Congressman during the 2020 election season. He loves basketball, and played all throughout his childhood and high school, where he was named the San Diego CIF Section Scholar Captain by the San Diego Union Tribune. In his free time, he loves to root for the Chargers and the Lakers, a lifelong fan of both teams. He loves music, and his favorite genres include R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul. He is the business manager of his a cappella group Shades of Yale, and he has toured with them domestically and internationally, with the group traveling to countries like the Bahamas, Japan, and South Africa to perform! Last summer, he studied abroad at the London School of Economics, where he learned about finance and economic policy. On campus, Aman is also an ambassador with the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and has enjoyed getting to speak to high school students who hope to apply to Yale and help guide them in their college admissions process. He has always appreciated getting the opportunity to work with students and is excited to help students take steps to pursue their passions and develop a vision for their future endeavors.
