PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Annabelle S. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Annabelle is a rising senior at Stanford University majoring in Symbolic Systems with a concentration in Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. Prior to Stanford, she attended Milton Academy, where she graduated cum laude, led the Sustainability Board and Invest in Girls, was a head tour guide, peer tutored, and volunteered at a local elementary school. Her junior fall of high school, she attended Maine Coast Semester at Chewonki, where she spent four months (without her cell phone!) learning about local ecology, working on the farm, and fostering her loves for connecting with others and with the natural world. For 2 years, Annabelle led a team at The Farmlink Project, where she worked to combat the issues of food insecurity, food waste, and climate change. She also has experience working at growth-stage software companies and in software investing. Annabelle is most excited about finding real-world applications of whatever she's teaching or learning. In her free time, Annabelle loves to find outdoor adventures and experiment with new recipes (and is actually going to pastry school in London this fall!).
