PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Caroline M. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Caroline just graduated from Northwestern University in June, where she studied Learning and Organizational Change, Data Science, Business, and Marketing! In her free time, Caroline enjoys singing Mezzo Soprano in her a cappella group Purple Haze, baking French pastries, throwing ceramics on the wheel, making sourdough bread, and cycling! In 2019, she became a National Merit Scholar and graduated Cum Laude from The Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas. In high school, she was very involved in the performing arts as the founding president of Kinkaid’s Thespian troupe and a Tommy Tune nominated actress. Caroline has a high level of proficiency in Spanish and lived with a family in Málaga during her sophomore year of high school. As the second oldest of four kids, Caroline aims to serve as a mentor to young women who are exploring their eclectic passions. Caroline’s diverse academic interests match her enthusiastic, warm, and individualized approach to mentoring, teaching, and learning!

GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT (SO FAR)

This past March, my a cappella group Purple Haze competed in the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs) and made it to semifinals! (Yes, that is the competition from the Pitch Perfect movies!) We even won the awards for best choreography and best soloist for our rendition of Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain". I am so proud of the hard work and dedication we put into ICCAs preparation. All the months of memorizing music, drilling harmonies, and practicing choreography were worth it to perform at semifinals with some of my closest friends. You can watch our set on Youtube and listen to Purple Haze's music on Spotify!
