PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

With seven years of tutoring experience, she has spent 550+ hours teaching 75+ students in a variety of subjects, including math, English, history, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and speech and debate. She has helped students create advocacy organizations, fundraisers, film festivals, and independent research projects.

In her extracurriculars, Claire spent her time on campus singing in a cappella group, acting and producing student theatre on campus, and editing articles for Princeton's newspaper, The Daily Princetonian. She is also involved in community service organizations. In high school, she was heavily involved as captain of the debate team, editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, the founder of a civic advocacy group, and the student director of a community theatre, where she ran weekly workshops for elementary and middle school children.

Claire brings a variety of professional experiences to share with students who are exploring career interests. She has interned with the US Congress, for an international NGO, and with Deloitte Consulting. She won the Deloitte Social Impact Case Competition in 2022 and has experience coaching students on business cases. During COVID, Claire took a gap year from Princeton to complete a year of national service with AmeriCorps, and she worked in the policy department for a nonprofit housing organization in Appalachia.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Our mentorship sessions happen virtually over Zoom. It’s important to get a sense of how someone’s personality can come through on a video call. The best way to ensure your student is excited about learning is to have someone on the other side that they look forward to talking to.
