PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

EDUCATION

- 2022 • Northwestern UniversityEvanston, Illinois
I am passionate about mentoring students in the areas of Video / Photography, Algebra I, Economics, K-5 Grade Math, Film / Theater, Music, Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Algebra II, and Precalculus / Trigonometry.

Connor M. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Connor graduated from Northwestern University in 2022 with a double major in Theater and Economics and a minor in Music. Connor's love for performing drove him to study theater and his interests in math and data analysis drove him to study Economics. At Northwestern, alongside acting in various student films and theater productions, he was President, Business Manager, and Technical Director of Thunk Acapella, where he managed the group's finances, mixed songs for their concerts and YouTube videos, and furthered his passions for music and audio engineering. During summers in college, Connor worked as a camp counselor at Fitness by the Sea where he supervised 5-14 year olds while swimming, boogie boarding, going for nature walks, and whatever other crazy activity camp had in store. He graduated cum laude from Windward School in West LA in 2018. While in high school, Connor acted in school plays and musicals, was the production manager of his school's improv troupe, played football, was a prefect, and spent his free time either playing video games or making music. Connor is also a longtime techie. He wrote his first computer program in 5th grade and built his first computer 6th. When Connor isn't in the studio or making a movie, he is usually going to concerts or laying on the beach with a good book.

Thank you so much for this connection. Ansh and I just reviewed Max's profile and background and Ansh is very excited to connect with Max. I also want to share a crazy coincidence with you that Ansh noticed - just this morning we toured Sequoyah High School, Pasadena as an option for Ansh to go to school for 11th and 12th grade if he moves from AR to CA. He really loved the school and the teachers and it is where Max went to high school 😀! Of all the coincidences that felt like a great sign :) Thank you for the connection -we have already scheduled time with Max.

Curious Cardinals has been so impactful to our children's passion for learning and for their futures! We could not have been more thrilled with our daughter's recent mentor Jordan. Jordan and Abby made an instant connection and Jordan introduced Abby to a whole new world in neuroscience. Not only did they explore this discipline, but they took an extracurricular leadership role and made it even more impactful by writing a research paper that my daughter just submitted to be published!!!

I highly recommend Curious Cardinals for specialized mentorship. Shulamit has been instrumental in guiding my daughter's extracurricular passions, focusing her efforts, and helping her amplify her strengths. I love that CC makes an incredible effort to match your child with the right mentor. That relationship makes all the difference!

We love working with CC! We have had 2 mentors already and now looking to add a third mentor - each focusing on various aspects of College applications prep. There are many wonderful things about the mentors - their skills and interests are matched to what we need, mentors are extremely knowledgeable and committed to the student's success, very organized, clear on goals and what was accomplished (notes from each session); and probably one of the most important aspects - they "speak the student's language" and truly built a connection with my daughter! Highly recommend and have been referring many friends and colleagues. Thank you CC!

MOM & BEST-SELLING AUTHOR

My husband, Jeff, his favorite quote growing up was always chance favors the prepared mind. So my son Daniel is meeting with [his Curious Cardinals mentor] Matt and building his cryptocurrency expertise. There was one day, I was in my office meeting with a woman, and she says she does a podcast. One of [the episodes] was about NFTs. And I was like, ‘Oh, Daniel, my son, is learning about NFTs,’ so I called Daniel, and they basically interviewed him to see if he actually knew anything. He was great, and he was on the podcast. Without Curious Cardinals and without the mentor…that all led to this moment. It just shows that by connecting [kids] with a mentor – somebody that they can really connect with on a particular topic – they can find great opportunities.

We marvel at the fact that the best teachers our kids have ever had aren’t even teachers! Alec and Audrey have such an impressive mastery of their respective subjects. They create engaging, relevant and challenging coursework that accomplishes what we most want for our kids - a love of learning.

Asher is an engaging mentor who inspires my son to love learning. Igniting intellectual passion is the key to creating life long learners who never stop wanting to understand and grow and my son is lucky to have Asher as a partner in his unusual covid-period learning!

Curious Cardinals not only helped spark Bethany's passion for writing, but connected her to a college mentor who she could see herself in and look up to for inspiration. Every parent hopes that their kids can find role models who are not only highly ambitious and highly accomplished, but also have integrity and compassion too - and that's what Curious Cardinals has facilitated for my daughter. Her mentor helped her find her author's voice and put together a viable plan to launch her blog, all empowering her with more confidence in herself as an individual. She loved it so much that I signed my son up too!
