PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Darwin L. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Darwin is a Stanford University graduate who studied Psychology with a Neuroscience track. He is an incoming medical student at KPSOM. Growing up, Darwin faced many life challenges but has managed to persevere and accomplish many of his goals using those challenges as motivation. Darwin is proud to be FLI (First Generation Low-Income) and hopes he can share his experiences with students to inspire and help them grow. He is passionate about helping others, in as many ways as possible. At Stanford, he played goalie for the Men’s Club Soccer team and started the very first skateboarding club at the university. He was also involved in research, both wet-lab research and clinical research at the Stanford School of Medicine. As a mentor at Curious Cardinals, he hopes to provide the help students need and show them that anything is possible and that there’s no single way to do things.
