PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

David M. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Hi! My name is David Mazouz, and I'm a Jewish graduate from Stanford University (2023) where I studied Economics and Psychology.

My passion is filmmaking, acting more specifically, which I have been doing professionally since I was 8. You might have seen my work in The Office, Family Guy, Gotham, or a variety of other movies.

I'm currently working on passion projects including short films, TV shows, a reality show, and commercials which I am involved in producing, writing, and directing.

Ultimately, I am in love with the art of storytelling. It is so fundamental to our nature as humans - and so necessary. Discovering new perspectives to share as well as new ways to share them is endlessly exciting to me, and the collaborative aspect to filmmaking, even more so. I want to dive in to how best to incorporate your feelings, your, opinions, and your experiences to your performing arts.

This work has technique and craft, but ultimately, it is play. So it should be fun!

Some more about me: Besides movies, I love to read (currently halfway into Anna Karrenina), I LOVE maps (ask me about it!), I love dogs, and all kinds of music. My pet peeve is when only one of my hands is wet, and I'm not the biggest fan of bugs. I can't wait to get to know you!

Watch David M. break down a subject they’re passionate about.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Our mentorship sessions happen virtually over Zoom. It’s important to get a sense of how someone’s personality can come through on a video call. The best way to ensure your student is excited about learning is to have someone on the other side that they look forward to talking to.

GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT (SO FAR)

I was in a TV show where I played Bruce Wayne/Batman on FOX for 5 years! It was a true honor to be trusted with such a beloved legacy.
