PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Erin F. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Erin is pursuing a Computer Science degree at Yale University. In her academic and extra-curricular activities, she seeks to bridge the gap through the humanities and STEM, seeking to create tech-driven solutions for social issues she is passionate about. In 2021 and 2022, she researched for NASA's Climate Change Research Initiative to explore the connection between historic urban development patterns and modern climate change experience.

Yale University I

GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT (SO FAR)

My greatest achievement was presenting as a primary author at the American Meteorological Society in my senior year of HS. I presented on the relationship between current climate change experience and historic redlining legacies in New York City neighborhoods. Having such qualified scientists listening to my presentation showed me that despite my young age, I can achieve anything if I am passionate enough about it.
