PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Fara B. (IN A NUTSHELL)

My dream Title would be she replied with this "Chief Vibes Officer," Fara dreams to be a catalyst for good outcomes.

By day, Fara is pursuing Science, Technology, and Society with a minor in African Studies at Stanford University. Fara started a non-profit organization called STEM in Africa (SIA) in 2020. SIA encourages young African students, primarily females, to go into STEM education and use innovation to solve everyday issues. Over the past year, SIA has raised a total of $20k to support young Africans in STEM learning and innovative programs. The next step for SIA is building a sustainable science hub in Lagos for students to research, build and scale.

Fara's passion lies in reforming the education sector around Africa.

By night, Fara is a culture enthusiast. Fara pursued an internship at Warner Music Africa last summer working on emerging artist brand strategy. Now she is working at a venture capital that invests in companies where culture is manifested.

In between the day and night: Fara plays lacrosse and DJs. She loves talking about the entertainment sector, empowering young female creatives. Fara also loves to travel and hopes to travel the whole world one day, she is a quarter of the way there!
