PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Fritze M. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Fritze is a rising sophomore in the School of Health at Georgetown University pursuing a major in Global Health. She is passionate about the intersection of health with all other aspects of life, specifically farming, nutrition, and the environment. At Georgetown she is involved with the Environmental Club as team lead of the Aquaponics group, works as a barista, and fellows with an organization addressing food waste and food insecurity. Before starting at Georgetown, Fritze took a gap year and spent her time taking passion-motivated classes in Florence, Italy, volunteering at an eco-tourism winery, and working as a gardener and prep-chef in Maine. Beyond all things food, Fritze is interested in media and art (embroidery and printmaking) and landscape architecture. In her free time, you will find Fritze in the kitchen baking, lounging at the beach, playing any kind of game, listening to a crime podcast, or writing letters to pen pals. She is excited to be working with mentees to foster curiousity and discovery.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Our mentorship sessions happen virtually over Zoom. It’s important to get a sense of how someone’s personality can come through on a video call. The best way to ensure your student is excited about learning is to have someone on the other side that they look forward to talking to.
