PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Grace H. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Grace graduated from Yale University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Intensive Political Science with distinction. Her studies focused primarily on the American legal system and modern criminal justice reform. She conducted independent research on harm reduction techniques in policing, and plans to pursue a PhD in political science to continue her research and policy work. Grace has experience harnessing the naturally competitive spirit of little sisters everywhere to build upon her own passions and curiosities. With a life-long love of art, she created a drawing and painting portfolio that has been showcased in exhibitions and sold online. In high school, she pursued a passion project in the advancement of equal education opportunity and founded a chapter of buildOn, a nonprofit constructing schools around the world. She also used the unexpected free time of 2020 lockdown to become a fully certified yoga instructor specializing in intention-based vinyasa flows. Grace spent her first year after college working as a legal assistant in BigLaw in New York City, before changing paths and moving to Los Angeles, CA. She currently lives in West Hollywood, where she works as an independent contractor in strategy consulting. When she’s not studying for the GRE, Grace spends her free time at the gym, exploring hiking trails in the area, adding to her art portfolio, or searching for the best chai latte in LA.
