PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Harry S. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Harry is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Computer Science at Stanford University. He enjoys proof-writing and reading about cool math proofs like Cantor's diagonal argument, a proof about how there are differently sized infinities! He is also a machine learning researcher, interested in applying ideas from natural intelligence to artificial intelligence e.g. if planning out milestones helps humans achieve long-term goals, can we use similar goal-conditioning methods for better robotic agents? Outside of academics, Harry enjoys journaling, making coffee, and playing sports. These three hobbies keep Harry motivated and happy, whether it be planning out fun cool trips, connecting with friends over a cup of hand-drip pourover, or going toe-to-toe in a competitive volleyball match.
