PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Jason L. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Hi, I'm Jason. I'm currently a junior studying computer engineering at Columbia University, and I transferred from Carnegie Mellon last year. Growing up in the suburbs of New York City, I found myself following in the footsteps of my father, who is an electrical engineer. It only took a few projects and electronics kits to foster a lifelong love for both electronics and learning, and before I knew it I was already on the path to being an engineer. I'm interested in robotics, computer systems, electronics, and even a minor hobby of 3D printing. On the side, I also try to indulge in some of my more minor hobbies- in the last year I've rekindled my love for writing, started playing soccer, and learned how to DJ.
