PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Jean-Max F. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Hi! My name is Max, I'm a Sophomore at UCLA studying Business-Economics and Linguistics. I'm a native speaker of French and have received highest honors on the French Baccalauréat. One thing about me is that I love languages! I grew up in a multicultural family where English, French, Spanish, Basque, and Arabic were all spoken around the dining table and it taught me that the most genuine way to connect with someone is to speak to them in their native language. Besides, languages are fun, and my mission is to show you just how fun and practical it is to learn a new language! On the side I love to bake my family's traditional "gâteau basque", publish articles on Basque linguistics, meet new people, and play lots of spikeball and soccer.
