PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Jerri R. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Jerri Anna is a senior at Stanford University studying psychology and education. She is from a rural town in Western North Carolina and is very passionate about empowering students through learning! She is also passionate about Native language revitalization and has spent two summers interning for a Cherokee language camp. At Stanford she is involved with public service and tutoring students in the East Palo Alto school district. This past summer she was an intern at All Five School in Menlo Park where she was able to teach a socioeconomically diverse group of preschool children. She also helped coach a 12U softball team back in her hometown and provided pitching lessons to young girls in her community. In her free time she loves to go to concerts, try new foods, hike, and play piano. She also loves watching Stanford athletics, especially the football and softball games. Ask her about Appalachian food, Netflix shows, and anything music!
