PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Jonathan C. (IN A NUTSHELL)

  • Nice to meet you. I'm Jon, a Sophomore studying CS and Econ @ Stanford. As one of 7 siblings, I've always looked out for my siblings, who are also always there for me.

When I was 9, I met the loudest and most energetic person I've known. That year, I met my little brother. He's stubborn, obnoxious, excitable, and fun, and he's someone who inspires me to always be a better role-model.

In my free time, I love to go to the gym, play a tennis match, or learn to sing and play a new song on the piano. Growing up I read constantly, burning through a few hundred pages each day, reading whole sections of my school's library. Nowadays my literary interests mostly lie in entrepreneurial classics and AI/ML.

Academically, I spent highschool intending to be premed, applying and working in the summers at SSP, Stanford Genomics, UCSF, and more. I co-founded my school's Biomedical Club while leading Varsity Tennis and participating in Varsity Parliamentary Debate, and graduated Rank 1/800 in my class.

At Stanford, I switched to Econ & CS, with a passion for financial/business analytics and software startup projects.

I'm always excited to talk about neurotech, personal software projects, financial analysis, and any of the aforementioned topics. Hope to meet you!

    Jon
