PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

EDUCATION

- 2023 • Stanford UniversityStanford, California
I am passionate about mentoring students in the areas of 6-8 Grade Science, Biology, Medicine / Health, and STEM Project.

Jordan W. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Jordan is a senior majoring in Bioengineering. He started doing research on cancer and stem cell biology in high school, and joined an epigenetics lab at UCLA. He fell in love with biology and all the fantastic adaptations that different creatures on earth have and loves to inspire others to find and pursue their passions. He believes that understanding biology to the point of engineerability will create enormous breakthroughs this century in both medicine and environmental healing, and is interested in the nexus of biotechnology and anthropology for long-term sustainability. At Stanford, his research has ranged from creating bacterial biosensors for COVID-19 detection in the Endy lab to modeling how behavioral adaptations spread through populations in the Jones lab. Currently he’s working on projects around pandemic prevention, sustainable agriculture, and a thermodynamic theory of cancer.
