PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Joshua M. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Josh is a current junior at Columbia University, pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Economics. Being a proud Bay Area native, he has always been an avid hiker, socks-with-sandals-wearer, and overall appreciator of good weather. In High School, Josh was heavily involved with student government, serving as Class President and ASB president during his time there. In College, he continues that trend of leadership, serving as the Director of Internal Affairs for the InterGreek Council, the co-director of community and culture for his on-campus Christian fellowship, and an energetic member of the bench for the Club Volleyball team. In his free time, he loves to get in overly heated arguments about sports, watch intellectually pretentious movies, and, above all else, to support and encourage students to always keep learning.
