I am passionate about mentoring students in the areas of K-5 Grade Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, 6-8 Grade Science, Chemistry, Biology, Writing, Academic Coaching, Executive Function, College Essay Writing, Reading, History, K-6 Storybook, Creative Writing, History Project, STEM Project, and Law / Government / Policy.

Kai S. (IN A NUTSHELL)

I graduated from Yale College in the spring of 2022, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with distinction. At Yale, I concentrated on bioethics at the intersection of history, religion, and medicine and completed pre-medical coursework. My interest in bioethics, as well as my passion for disability rights and mental health advocacy, stems from my life-long friendship with my cousin, who has CHARGE Syndrome. Through my involvement with the CHARGE community, I learned American Sign Language (ASL). While in high school, I also became involved in scientific research to improve the outcomes for children with developmental disabilities. I am now a published researcher and remain involved in research dedicated to the unique experiences of individuals with disabilities and mental health conditions. I am so excited to join the Curious Cardinals community and can’t wait to meet my new students and mentees!

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Our mentorship sessions happen virtually over Zoom. It’s important to get a sense of how someone’s personality can come through on a video call. The best way to ensure your student is excited about learning is to have someone on the other side that they look forward to talking to.
