Maya I. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Maya is a University of Pennsylvania graduate who has worked as a software engineer at multiple startups. She graduated summa cum laude from Penn in 2022 with a BA in both Computer Science, and Health & Societies, as well as a minor in Cognitive Science. At Penn she was a teaching assistant for CIS110, the introductory computer science course for undergraduates. She was also heavily involved in CityStep, an arts-based mentorship group that teaches dance and self-expression in elementary and middle school classrooms around West Philadelphia. She grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and graduated from Lower Merion high school in 2017, where she excelled at a number of A.P. courses including Biology, Calculus AB, Chemistry, French, Statistics and Physics. In her free time, Maya loves snowboarding, hiking, exploring new restaurants, reading, and playing guitar and piano. She has always been passionate about teaching and is excited to continue to cultivate curiosity in others!
