PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Morgan M. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Morgan is a sophomore at Stanford University studying Economics and minoring in Data Science and Human Rights. Passionate about international development, refugee policy reform, and environmental policy, Morgan strives to have a positive impact on the world. In high school, she co-founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Gifting For Thrifting that provided free second-hand clothing to underprivileged communities in the Chicagoland area through pop-up thrift stores, personalized orders, and direct donations to shelters. Due to the impact she had on thousands of people through Gifting For Thrifting, along with extensive involvement within her school through the creation of the MCHS Allies in Diversity Club, Morgan was named a 2021 Coca-Cola Scholar. Morgan has done research on various issues related to forced international migration since her participation in the Yale Young Global Scholars summer program in 2019. She continues to pursue her passion for social activism and human rights through research for the Stanford VMWare Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab. Outside of academia, Morgan has a love for film and television and screenwriting. Additionally, she adores fashion, music, and reading. Having grown up doing gymnastics and competitive cheerleading, Morgan loves staying active and strong through weightlifting. Morgan hopes to empower youth to pursue their passions and cannot wait to work with students through Curious Cardinals!
