PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Patricio P. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Patricio is a sophomore at Yale double majoring in Economics and Philosophy. Patricio is being advised in his Philosophy Curriculum by Sterling Professor Micheal Della-Rocca, who holds the highest academic rank at Yale University and is considered the best in his field. His love to think and write motivated him to pursue a degree in Philosophy, while his analytical strength and market knowledge led him to add Economics to his studies. Outside of Philosophy, Patricio is incredibly interested in traveling and community service as he has traveled to over 25 countries (Jordan, China, and Cambodia are some of his favorites), and has attended over five mission trips across the United States. Patricio was born in Mexico City, Mexico before moving to the U.S., and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He has a strong connection to his background, and is really passionate about staying close to his roots. For example, at Yale, he is the treasurer of the Yale Mexican Student Organization. On campus, he also serves as the treasurer for Yale Alternative Investments, and is a member of the Club Lacrosse and Soccer teams. Before matriculating at Yale, Patricio attended Staples High School in CT, where he graduated in the top 4% of his class, served as the President of the National Honors Society, led his Church Youth Group, was the MVP of the Varsity soccer team and was a named the Staples Boys’ Soccer Scholar Athlete. Outside of the classroom, Patricio enjoys reading, running, hiking, and cooking! Patricio loves to cook traditional Mexican cuisines, but he also enjoys learning about new gastronomies on his several trips. Lastly, next summer, Patricio will be working at Goldman Sachs as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst. He plans to begin his career in Finance, with the hope of entering the sports industry in the future within his hometown of Mexico City. Please feel free to reach out, as he can’t wait to get started! Patricio is passionate about helping others, and loves to help students understand and master material, which motivated him to join the Curious Cardinals team.
