PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Samantha C. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Samantha (who commonly goes by Sam) is currently pursuing her degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University. She was from Flushing, New York before she moved to Manhasset, New York when she was 11. At Manhasset, she discovered her interest in running and science. Throughout her years at Manhasset, she eventually became the captain of her Cross Country and Track team, the president of Science Honor Society, conducted award winning environmental research, and many more. With her passion to guide and help others, Samantha has about 4 years of tutoring experience in math, english, and science and has created and co-taught an environmental science course for middle school students. During her time at Princeton, Samantha is exploring her interest in history and the arts some more outside of her major. In doing so she has taken classes like the History of Pompeii, Introduction to Digital Photography, and spent a summer in Greece studying archeology and excavating a 4th century house. Outside of academics, Samantha also tries to find time to crochet, bake, and watch some TV (she’s seen all the Marvel movies).
