PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Shane R. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Shane is a rising junior at Harvard studying cognitive neuroscience and evolutionary psychology with a secondary in economics. His experience in entrepreneurship ranges from selling his first company as a sophomore in high school to an award-winning robotics startup in college. He is a licensed snowboard instructor, certified CrossFit trainer, and a real estate agent with $1M+ in sales. While still in high school, he was published in a historical review for his work on the history of naval warfare. During his gap year, he worked for a construction consultant in Bogotá, Colombia, taught snowboarding in Hokkaido, Japan, and ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Passionate about national service, Shane has consulted for 3 different branches of the U.S. Department of Defense. He wrestles on Harvard's varsity team, and if the weather isn't too nice, you might find him studying.
