PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Stella D. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Stella is a rising senior at Stanford majoring in Human Biology with a concentration in neurobiology supporting cognitive and behavioral wellness. Stella wears many hats from entrepreneur to yoga instructor to camp counselor to Stanford TA to community builder to dog lover to mental health advocate to a devoted friend. During the pandemic, Stella took a gap year to help found The Farmlink Project, a non-profit connecting surplus produce on farms to communities in need. At Stanford, she was accepted into the Mayfield Fellows Program, through which she interned as the Chief of Staff to the CEO at Prairie Health, a mental health startup. Stella's interests have a common theme of motivating change through science, empathy, and kindness. In her studies she's learning how our neurobiology impacts the way we think, interact and evolve. She believes that understanding the biological basis of our human experience can be used to connect us to the natural world we live in. Oh, and she cannot wait to get to know you!!!
