PRO TIP:

When evaluating whether a mentor would be a good match for your student keep in mind that the greatest leading indicator of success is how well a mentor and their mentee get along.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Would the student find this person inspiring?
  • Do they share any interests, hobbies, or lived experiences?

Will M. (IN A NUTSHELL)

Will is a junior at Stanford studying electrical engineering and physics. He is interested in researching cutting edge hardware technologies for the future of computing and communications. He currently works at the Congreve Lab at Stanford where he investigates the properties of an emerging class of materials called perovskites. While not in school, Will enjoys reading, running, listening to podcasts, watching sports, and doing things outdoors. Previously, Will has been an intern at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, MACOM, and Mezli, a bay area startup. Will graduated as valedictorian from Valparaiso High School in 2020 where he was involved in Model UN, Student Council, and was on the soccer team.
